Week 1
For my first piece of my concentration I did an illustration of the book The Great Gatsby. I pulled out a scene depicting a body of water with and boat at the end of a dock. I used acrylic paint to do an under painting of the shapes. I then used resin to put the pieces of pages on top and painted in oil over top of them.

Week 2
The second week I worked on my second piece. For this piece I worked on the book Frankenstein and used the imagery from the works to paint the landscape described. For this piece I only used resin for the page words and oil paint. I put the tried to put the words along side of the images within the painting to make the piece more coercive

Week 3
Week 4
For this painting I illustrated the book The Catcher and the Rye. This time I tore up the words of the book into individual words and focused on blending them into the background. I also focused on incorporating all the words into specific places in the painting to help the overall flow of the piece to be more cohesive.
Week 5
This week I finished the painting about the book Wuthering Heights. I used oil paint and resin to attach the words of the pages. This time I cut the words up individually and blended them into the background more then before. I also used different sized words and letters to give the painting more variety.
Week 6
This week I worked on another painting using imagery from the book, Lord of the Flies. I used an interesting composition of a large tree with lots of individual vines and lots of variation in value. I focused on cutting the words individually and having them flow with the direction of the vines. I also focused on blending in the words with the colors used in the painting.

Week 7
Week 8
Week 9
For my next piece, I painted the interior of an architecturally complex greenhouse building with lots of windows and light sources. I continued using text from the book The Secret Garden and incorporated them into the painting. I focused on adding details within the complex building layout especially within the top half of the painting. I also focused on creating a realistic and 3 dimensional structure.

Week 10
My final piece for my concentration was of bridge using one point perspective. I used the text from the book Anna Karenina to continue the pattern of imaged text. I focused on painting a background that creates a realistic depth from the background to the foreground. I also tried to stick to a warm color scheme throughout the painting.
